I hear guys referred to as pieces of meat (esp since the penis is often referred to that way) much more than women. Someone who thinks any person as just a piece of meat, has no respect for them and isn't a kewl person to begin with.

As for being seen as who we are, not what we look like, that preference tends to still be with regard to guys we'd like to date. Most of us don't mind being friends with guys, but when we see or meet a guy we are attracted to, we typically would like him to find us appealing on more than just a physical level.

As for being respected at school or work...most people want that but few want only that.
